Musician Bio
Allen Miller, assistant principal/third/utility trumpet, initially performed with the ISO as a student in 1975. Since that time Allen has enjoyed a long career playing and teaching music, primarily right here in central Indiana.
Mr. Miller has served several roles in the ISO trumpet section and has performed in many music genres. He has performed with operas, ballets, Broadway shows, big bands, circuses, church services, sporting events, brass ensembles, recording studios, many well-known artists, and just about anything you can imagine.
Allen grew up in Greenwood and studied at Indiana State University. His teachers include Dalvin Boone, Delbert Dale, Robert Birch, Marvin Perry, and everyone else he has had the honor to perform with or hear.
Mr. Miller teaches trumpet at Butler University and has, also, taught at UIndy, IUPUI, and Indiana State University.
Allen and his wife, Debbie, have three children and two grandchildren. When not working, Allen enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with family.
