Håkan Hardenberger performs Tomasi’s Trumpet Concerto, an expressive and technical piece that was once declared “unplayable.” Schmitt’s most famous composition—the symphonic suite from the ballet La Tragédie de Salomé—and Stravinsky’s ballet and orchestral work The Firebird, with its story of good versus evil, will come to life under the dynamic stylings of conductor Fabien Gabel.
