Musician Bio
Emily Owsinski has been performing with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra since 2018, and is delighted to rejoin the viola section for the 2023-2024 season after a year with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Owsinski grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where she started violin in a Suzuki program at age four. She continued her musical training at the Peabody Preparatory in Baltimore and, after switching to viola, earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in music performance from Indiana University. Her influential teachers include Linda Fiore, Rebecca Henry, Stephen Wyrczynski, and Edward Gazouleas. When she’s not playing viola, Ms. Owsinski enjoys running, outdoor adventures, and reading while snuggled up with her two cats.
