Musician Bio

Trombonist Joseph Aumann is proud to be joining the Indianapolis Symphony for the 2022-2023 season. Hailing from Hartford, WI, Joe received music degrees from The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Northwestern University, and Indiana University- Bloomington. He has been the Principal Trombonist of the Dubuque Symphony since 2016. He served as the 2nd Trombone of the Alabama Symphony for the 2018-2019 season, during which he was the trombone instructor at Talladega College. He has been active as a freelance musician, performing with orchestras such as the Milwaukee Symphony, Kansas City Symphony, Tucson Symphony, Chicago Philharmonic, Des Moines Symphony, and the Louisiana Philharmonic.

When not performing or practicing, Joe might be found “wetting a line” at an inland river or lake.
