Musician Bio
A native of Naples, Florida, violinist Marisa Votapek joined the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in 2022. Before starting with the ISO, Marisa had begun her journey as a Hoosier at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, earning a Master of Music and Performance Diploma under the instruction of Mark Kaplan.
Growing up in a musical family, Marisa started the violin at the age of four and received a Bachelor of Music from Florida State University with Corinne Stillwell. As an orchestral musician, Marisa has performed with the Naples Philharmonic, New World Symphony, and was previously concertmaster of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic. In the summer of 2022, Marisa was a fellow at Tanglewood Music Center, and has participated in other distinguished festivals such as Aspen Music Festival, the National Repertory Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute at the Kennedy Center.
When not playing the violin, Marisa loves pursuing her amateur baking career, watching reality tv, and spending time with her cat, Nell.
