Musician Bio
Claire Thaler joined the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in the fall of 2024. Before performing with the orchestra, she was based in Boston, Massachusetts, and has served as a substitute for the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and the New World Symphony.
An avid orchestral and chamber musician, Claire has performed at summer festivals including the Tanglewood Music Center, Yellow Barn Young Artist Program, Castleman Quartet Program, Madeline Island Chamber Music, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and LyricaFest. She has performed in master classes for pedagogues including Ayano Ninomiya, Laurie Smukler, and Almita and Roland Vamos. Claire was a member of the New York String Orchestra Seminar in the winter of 2019, performing in two sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall. She was a winner of the 2020 Blair School of Music Concerto Competition and received 1st prize in the 2017 Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra Competition.
Claire received her bachelor’s degree from the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University in 2022, where she studied with Dr. Carolyn Huebl and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She is a recent graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, where she obtained her master’s degree under the direction of Professor Ayano Ninomiya. Claire Thaler is originally from Tallahassee, FL.
